Estimation of the yield and angular distribution of neutrons for calculating the biological shielding of reconstructed heavy ion accelerators with energies from 1 to 6 MeV/u

A simple analytical formulas for estimation of the yield and angular distribution neutrons from thick targets would be useful calculating biological protection heavy ion accelerators with energy (1–6) MeV/nucleon. The results calculation this were compared those obtained using LISE++ FLUKA programs as well available experimental data. As a result, it can stated that proposed method used quick assessment. deviation such calculations more accurate ones does not exceed factor two, which is comparable deviations in shielding due to variety properties materials or their thickness.
